It has been nearly 2 years since Apple first launched the iPhone SE, but it is still one of our favorite phones.
It is small, relatively cheap (for an iPhone), and is really nice to use.
As much as we like it, it could do with a bit of an update.
The A9 processor is the same one you will find in the iPhone 6S, and the 12 MP camera is starting to show its age a bit.
The good news is that the rumors are heating up for the upcoming iPhone SE 2.
This render shows what it probably is going to look like:
The guys who made this are pretty bang on, on their renders.
So we are confident that this is pretty close to the final design for the iPhone SE 2.
This render as you can see is a lot like the current SE 2 with its two-tone aluminum body, or be it with no headphone jack this time and thinner bezels, including the infamous notch.
We may be looking at a bigger 5-inch screen but in the same size body as the current SE.
Apple did say last year that the iPhone X was the beginning of a new generation of iPhones.
So it would make sense for future releases including the iPhone SE 2 to follow a super thin bezel design language.
It also not that surprising if they got rid of the headphone jack
Although since the SE is pretty big in emerging markets where wireless and Bluetooth headphones are less common, that might be a problem for some.
The above render also shows a face ID sensor in the notch, instead of a touch ID home button.
Either way, we reckon the iPhone SE 2 is going to be a seriously good looking phone. Although if it metal rather than glass, it is unlikely we will get wireless charging.
Specs wise it has been reported that the iPhone SE 2 will come with a newer A10 Fusion chip, with the same 2 GB RAM and the 32 & 128 GB storage options.
2 GB RAM
32 | 128 GB Storage
1700 MAH Battery
It is expected that the SE 2 will come with the same 12 MP camera as the current iPhone 8, along with its much larger F 1.7 aperture which will make it a lot better for low light photos.
When will it be released?
Well, Apple do have their WWD conference in June, but they have not launched a phone there since 2010.
So chances are, we are going to see the SE 2 launched at with least two other iPhones in September.
As per pricing,
The current SE starts at $349 for the 32 GB model, and a big part of the phones’ success is its cheaper price VS the other flagship iPhones.
So we would expect the iPhone SE 2 to come with a similar price tag.
Or maybe just a small increase.
We do have an idea as to what the iPhone SE 2 is going to look like and feature in terms of specs, but the truth is, we just don’t know for sure.
Everything is leaked, and rumors, and speculation.
But hopefully, this has given you a bit of an impression of what we can expect and when for the upcoming iPhone SE 2.
