We are in the middle of 2018 and we have had a brilliant year in mobile gaming so far.
Both platforms, iOS and Andriod has had some excellent titles and we’re excited for what the rest of the year has in store.
So we decided to put together a list of the best iOS and Andriod game of 2018 so far. These games have all impressed us so much and deserve a second mention.
Without further ado, here is the list of the very best of 2018 so far.
The highest rated game of 2018 so far, Oddmar is near perfect.
The game is one of the most talked about games of 2018 and is considered the best 2D platformer of ALL TIME.
That is some introduction to a game eh?
Oddmar is something you cannot miss out on. The story, the gameplay, the soundtrack, and everything else just works so perfectly.
We were very excited to get our hands on this game, and it did not disappoint.
The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands is an extremely intelligent game. We love a good strategy game here at MobileGameHunter and this was one of the highlights of 2018.
The game centers around the life of a seller who builds a community and then workes together to protect it.
Something that really works in this game is its story and the way it is told, and that helps it stand out in its genre.
This game may not be for everyone but it is certainly worth your time if you decide to give it a go.
Final Fantasy XV brings all the glory of the mega-successful console game to your mobile phone.
This achievement in itself is super impressive. The developers didn’t just transfer the whole game to the mobile platform, rather they made sure it was mobile friendly.
This worked out so well.
The storyline was cut shorts (for obvious reasons), but everything you loved about the original was still intact.
One of the most impressive titles of 2018, Final Fantasy XV managed to close the gap between mobile and console gaming.
That is why it is one of our highest rated games.
There are not enough games like Florence in the market. But maybe that’s why this game is so special.
It’s unlike anything we had played before, and it certainly is an experiment that worked out really well.
The game tells the story of Florence and we are invited to be apart of her beautiful love life. It truly is one unique experience.
If you are the type that likes to stray away from the norm, Florence is something you can’t miss.
We certainly loved it.
Cytus 2 is finger tapping madness at its absolute best.
This is a slightly different kind of rhythm-based game as it is based on a story. To be more specific, it is about solving the murder of a dead DJ.
The gameplay itself is fantastic; add a good story and great music to it, and you got yourself a pretty good game.
Cytus was well received by fans and critics alike, and there is no reason why you shouldn’t check this game out right now.
One of the highest rated games of 2018, the accolades came rolling in when The Room: Old Sins was released.
The game went back to its roots for the 4th game in the installment, and it became one of the best, if not the best puzzler on the iOS Platform.
The game was released on Andriod in April 2018, so now everyone can experience the greatness that is the Room.
A Must Try!
One of the most memorable titles of 2018, Playdead’s Inside will take your breath away.
It is one of the most haunting games we have ever played. The story and the fear factor was created beautifully on the mobile screen. Inside is nothing short of a masterpiece.
From the fluid graphics to the mesmerizing soundtrack, Inside will transport you to another world.
This game is highly recommended.
Fez: Pocket Edition is the ultimate little “BIG” game. For those of you who don’t know, Fez is a console game released way back in 2012 on the Xbox which impressed literally everyone.
The game is a 2D platformer set in a rotatable 3D environment.
This magnificent game has so much to explore, and so many secrets to uncover, it really is something you need to experience for yourself.
We absolutely adore this game, and you should certainly check it out. Trust me, you are missing out if you don’t.
Animus – Stand Alone, is obviously inspired by Dark Souls. However you will notice that the combat is faster, and given that this a mobile game, that was a brilliant decision to make.
Playing through the game, it felt like playing one of the early Dark Souls game, which is a very good compliment.
The one weakness may be the controls, again given it’s a mobile game, you cant expect too much.
We recommend that you use a controller if you have on as it really improves the experience.
In short, Animus – Stand Alone is one heck of a game!
Reigns: Her Majesty is a pretty neat evolution of the original Reigns.
This is a game where you continuously get questions for which you have two options.
The game portrays being a ruler as a tinder app, where you swipe right to do, swipe left to ‘not’ do.
Reigns: Her Majesty is not what it sounds like and is full of depth and continually go deeper and deeper where your choices have consequences much like in real life, and characters do different things based on the way you play the game.
This creates complex situations which make the game really interesting.
Bridge Constructor Portal The title simply tells you what the game is, it is a bridge constructor game with portal mechanics.
The premise of this game is to build bridges so that vehicles and get across it.
The idea of bridges and portals actually merge really well.
The game gets you thinking creatively and with the addition of Portals, it makes things a whole lot interesting.
