Telltale as you know has been very successful with their narrative-driven games.
Minecraft: Story Mode is probably their biggest hit, with other games like ‘Walking Dead: The Game’ and ‘Tales from the Borderlands’ being massive hits.
If you have never heard of these games before, let me tell you what they are all about.
These are all ‘choose-your-adventure’ type of games where the decision you make will have an impact on the story. And these stories are told in a series of animated cut-scenes.
It is weird how we are coming full-circle to these type of games, first made popular way back when LaserDisc games were the hot thing.
Now, Telltale games catalogs are heading to Netflix for a whole new experience.
Telltale already have interactive titles on Netflix like the ‘Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale’, which has proven to be very popular.
What will be interesting to see is how these games will be adapted to Netflix. Will they have to strip down most of the game?
Current interactive content on Netflix are just different videos playing based on your selection.
I wish they will do more with these Telltale titles though. Let’s see….
I would love to see some quick time events. I do not know how it can be done, but it would be very cool.
It is too soon to say if this will be a success or not, but having the option to access Telltale content on your Netflix is very cool indeed.
What do you think?
